Finding the Motivation to Clean Throughout the Week

Posted on Friday, February 21st, 2020

We’re all busy, we all have full schedules. That means that certain things can slip, which includes doing household chores. But who wants to do the washing up straight after eating? Not us!

But, once our homes become too messy to handle, it plays havoc with our mind. That’s when we throw on the marigolds and get cracking! But, what if I told you that you didn’t have to let it get to that stage? Just by following these easy steps, you can keep your house spick and span!

Wash Your Dishes

This obviously goes without saying, but washing your dishes as and when you eat means that there’s no left-over mess haunting you in the kitchen! It’s all put away, ready for the next day.

I don’t know about you, but we always feel much better when we come downstairs in the morning and the kitchen sink is free of mess and sparkling clean!

Cleaning the Sides

Again, this might be another obvious one. However, giving the sides a good wipe down every day will help to avoid it looking grimy and gross.
A wipe a day keeps the germs away!

This goes for the kitchen, the bathroom, basically anywhere that you feel needs a good wipe down. If you keep on top of the bathroom and kitchen, the rest should fall into place quite easily. Plus, you’ll get into a rhythm of doing it and it’ll become easier to remember!

Tidy Once It’s Been Used

This simple task can save you a lot of time and unnecessary clutter stress. Once you get something out and have used it, put it away in its spot. Easy, right?

I know we sometimes get a bit complacent with what we leave out around the house, and that’s fine! But, to keep a clear head and to make sure that you’re not tripping over random stuff in the halls, put things away and make your life a lot easier.

Make a Weekly List

I think we all feel this pressure to get everything done in one day. If you write down everything that you need to get done in that week, it’ll help you prioritise and give you the motivation that you need to get it done!

Who says you have to get it done all at once anyway? Unless you’re hosting a huge party, just take your time and do a task per day. Much less stress, much more productive.
